Make a donation and make a difference in your community

This year, Blackstone Library is celebrating 125 years of making a difference to so many in our community by providing resources for research, entertainment, lifelong learning, enhancing careers and finding jobs. More recently, our STEAM-focused programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) are impacting the futures of Branford residents, inspiring and helping today’s students and entrepreneurs to become tomorrow’s innovators and change-makers.

Your gift makes a difference in people’s lives

Earlier this year we heard from Emily, who began college this fall. She spent many hours at the Blackstone while growing up, and participated in afterschool programs that offered hands-on experience with maker tools, including learning to use 3D printers and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs.

“I had a great experience and learned a lot from attending your workshops. The material I learned in your program was very helpful and useful, especially during my high school years,” writes Emily. “For example, when I took an engineering course at my school, I already knew how to use CAD and 3D printing since I had used it before in your program, so it made the course easier. Participating in your program helped inspire me to become interested in engineering.”

Emily’s future is bright – and you have the power to help create bright futures for many others in our community. Your support can transform lives, making possible more hands-on workshops for teens; early literacy storytimes for little ones; lifelong learning programs for adults; increased access to thousands of exceptional books, magazines, movies, TV shows, and songs; and so much more.

A gift to the Blackstone has a direct and immediate impact

Your support helps provide free access to the resources and materials our community needs for lifelong learning and enrichment. Consider joining the Leadership Circle with a tax-deductible gift of $125 or more to have an even greater impact on your community.

You can make a gift through Donor Advised Funds or family foundations, and gifts of stock and matching gifts from employers count, too. Be sure to talk with your tax advisor to ensure the highest impact with your gift.
