Children’s Book Lists and Recommended Reading Leveled Sites.
Sometimes finding the right book is half the battle! I am sure we have all heard – pick a subject, historical time period or genre that will spark your child’s interest but sometimes finding that interest in a sea of authors can be overwhelming. Well, the Library is here to help! Feel free to ask any of our librarians for book recommendations – if we have not read it we can find a way to track the…if you like this then you must read this next(s)! We also have a leveled reading list provided by Branford Public Schools with suggested titles that makes finding “the just right book” for emergent readers a little easier. Also, do not be afraid to bring home a little variety! If your child has soaked up an entire series bring 3 or 4 new titles to choose from – the key is to present options rather than demands. Also, having your child with you during the book searching process can take more time but can also be a bonding experience as you begin to understand what gets them excited to read.
