Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in Helping in the Youth Services Department?

The Youth Services Department is always looking for extra help when it comes to getting things done at the library. If you are in 7th grade or higher and have an interest in the library, helping the community, or need to complete a certain number of hours for school or honor society then Blackstone Library may be just right for you!

Volunteering at the library might include: shelving, shelf reading, cutting/assembling crafts, and preparing for programs. The library asks that you commit an hour time block on a weekly basis until your allotted hours are complete. If you cannot make it for any reason, we ask that you call the library at 203.488.1441, ext. 321 so that we can plan accordingly.

The library is open seven days a week (and open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday), so we can create a schedule that works best for you. All you need to do is complete this application. Once complete, we will review your application, see if there are any openings, and then setup a time to begin.
