The Short Beach Union Chapel was a non-denominational Protestant church built for the Short Beach summer colony. David Corey donated the land and Ella Wheeler Wilcox and Robert Wilcox were early financial supporters. The chapel was built in two weeks by Short Beach residents and dedicated on August 19, 1883. An addition was made in 1903 and electricity was added.
