The library has a number of resources to assist in a land records search. Town Historian Jane Bouley has provided extensive material abstracted from land and town records at Branford Town Hall, where the original indexes and deeds are located.
Helpful documents from Jane include an overall view of Branford Land Records, a list of the index books at Town Hall, a how-to for searching land records, some terms used in land records research and Branford land records at Family Search, available to view when accessing Family Search from within the library or another Family Search affiliate.
In addition, Jane has given the library a copy of her research, which includes information on land transfers, sales and purchases, and genealogical information found in land and town records. Patrons can call, email or visit the Reference desk at the library to inquire about this information.
