Join the Blackstone Library in celebrating our Summer Reading theme this year: Find Your Voice! We have lots of fun activities for all ages planned and a rewards program for reading. Take a look at the details below – we can’t wait to see you this summer!
Summer Reading
Stop by the Youth Services desk starting the week of June 20th to grab your Summer Reading gameboard to join in on the fun! Children ages 0-12 will receive a token each time they complete a task on the gameboard and will be entered into a drawing to receive a gift card when they have completed the whole board. Teens ages 12-18 will receive a book when they complete their gameboards, and be entered into a drawing to receive a gift card.
Summer Events
We have lots of special events this summer for kids and teens! We are grateful to the Branford Community Foundation for sponsoring our summer reading events. Check out our calendar for the full line up.
Storywalk® on Main
This summer’s StoryWalk® on Main is all about finding your voice and making a difference! Gather your friends and family to read this year’s picture book, I Am One by Susan Verde, in the store windows along Branford’s Main Street. This event bridges walking, reading & conversation & is provided with help from Branford’s local merchants and the Friends of the Blackstone Library. Stop by the Youth Services desk to pick up a map of the stops! The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
