The library has an extensive collection of historical photographs of the library and of Branford. You can view the Blackstone Library construction photographs, a group of library postcards, a collection of Branford Carnival photographs, the Baxter photograph album and the VanDyke photograph album.
The library is also the repository for the Branford Historical Society’s photograph collection. These photographs can be viewed on CDs by coming to the library and visiting the Reference Department. Copying, printing and downloading of these photographs is not permitted, but the Reference librarians can refer you to the Branford Historical Society for permissions or to request copies. We have recently uploaded an index to these photographs, which can be found here.
The library has long been an inspiration for photographers. We are happy to have people photograph the library. We ask that you let the Reference librarians know that you are doing so and that you do not take photographs of our patrons.
