Ancestry Library Edition Access From Home

Thanks to ProQuest, we were able to provide Blackstone patrons access to Ancestry Library Edition from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Remote access will no longer be available in 2022 but you can always visit the library and access AncestryLibrary using your own device or one of our computers.

In addition to AncestryLibrary, we offer in-library access to American Ancestors (New England Historic Genealogical Society) and the Godfrey Library. We are also a Family Search affiliate which allows access to a number of online collections that are not available from home.

We also have two recent databases that are accessible from home.

Passenger and Immigration Lists Index provides an index to millions of people who immigrated to the U.S. and Canada. First published in 1981 in print-only format, the index covered 500,000 persons. The 2020 digital edition provides access to more than 5 million people who immigrated between the late 1500s to mid-1900s, departing from more than 100 ports in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and the South Pacific and arriving at more than 200 ports in North and South America. Access from inside the library, or log in using your Blackstone card from home.

Heritage Hub allows you to search for obituaries and death notices from 1704 – today, including hard-to-find obituary content from the mid 1900’s, coverage from all 50 states, and original obituary images from historical newspapers. Access from inside the library, or log in using your Blackstone card from home.

We have some additional links for family history here.
